Lois Silver Star
aka Misty
Foaled June 24, 1980
Misty was donated to the Rainbow Riders
Therapeutic Riding Program in 2001 by Mr. Kalmer Knudsen of Raymond,
Nebraska. She was purchased by his uncle around 1989 at a sale in Rapid
City, South Dakota. She was a terrific trail horse and had been on trail
rides across the state of South Dakota. Misty was given to me by the
Rainbow Riders Program in 2003 when she became un-useable in the program due to
bone spurs on her knee. I gave her to the Steve Luhr family in 2004.
She is loved and cared for by the Luhr family.

"All horses deserve, at least
once in their lives, to be loved by a little girl."-Unknown
"Riding a horse is not a gentle
hobby, to be picked up and laid down
like a game of solitaire. It is a grand passion. It seizes a person
whole, and once it has done so, he will have to accept that his life
will be radically changed." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

From The Luhr Family on March 22, 2006:
"Hi
Marvel,
The kids were cleaning out the hay loft yesterday and decided
to see how Misty looked with the old horse gear on. They had the horse
blinder harness but didn't push that. Misty has had a hard time sharing
the barn with the cows that are calving. She likes the baby calves but
doesn't like those cows. Make for some interesting pen swapping especially
on days and nights like yesterday. Hope all is well for you! The Luhr's"
